NW Regional Office
Hello, my name is Judith Campbell or Judy as my friends call me and I have the pleasure of being a mother to two young adults who keep things very lively in the Campbell household. I have been active in the Local Task Force Right to Education #4 for the past eleven years and have served as their Chairperson or Vice Chairperson for a number of those years. That’s just one of the many hats I wear! I first heard about Parent to Parent when I received a visit from a peer supporter when my youngest son was in the neo natal intensive care unit (NICU); where he spent the first 6 weeks of his life and then 2 weeks at a transitional infant care facility until he could come home. He had heart surgery at 6 months of age and then had a horrible bout with reflux at 8 months and was put on a feeding pump for 22 hours a day. Now, he loves life, music, playing his guitar, dancing, swimming, baseball and just happens to have down syndrome. Those early days are over now but I am so grateful for the support I received. This November (2015) marks the beginning of my fifth year as the Northwest Regional Coordinator of Parent to Parent. I am very passionate about our program because I have been on the receiving end. I continue to pay it forward to other families so they can experience support in their time of need.
